Hey you Guys/Gals are GREAT!! Thanks for all the different 1-shot color recipes. I'm sure learning alot since I found this web-site. Hell I'm still painting in my basement & trying to decide if I should make this a small business for me. You guys are all pros! Here's some other colors I 've mixed up after I spilled on my floor:

Blood Red (venous blood that is)- Bright Red , Purple & a little Black
Battleship Grey- Reflex Blue,Yellow , Black & a lotta White
Skin Tones- Orange, White & Black

Thanks again everyone

Tom,
When matching colors we use a little trick that took too long for us to discover. Use your finger and a piece of white showcard to make a sample color. Don't pour quantities of paint from can to can. Take a small finger glop of each color you think you will need and place a drop or two on the card all by itself. Then, using that high tech mixing tool, your finger, add a little of this and a little of that until you get the color desired. Keep track of which colors you used and then add quantities into a can slowly and sparingly until you have the amount you want. We figure a quart spray gun can do two 4'X 8" plywood panels. That is our guide so we don't wind up with seven gallons of moss green to paint a 12" x 24" sign. Hope this helps.

Try using a 1 ounce medical mixing cup. It is able to give you the amounts of paint you will be putting in to get the color you want for future mixing and storage. I have about 80 colors I use that are all formulated from one shot, done by Don Ives of meriden Connecticut. Since the 153L blue is different in Chromatic as its much brighter some of the formulars are then different. In HoK urethanes I have mixed almost the same as one shot but never the less I always use a formular. I have a website going together which will have formulars for paint colors and tips for flow. It will also have a store on it for mini funnels, cups,2 oz airbrush cups and storage containers, Inflites, sign kits and many other tools we all use but seem to have a hard time on finding. I will post when the site is up..........

I guess I'm lucky. I married an artist. She can mix any color I want from One Shot. And she doesn't fade in a year like the PMS color charts. And she doewsn't even get PMS. *laffing*

Ahhh life is good.

I always put:
blue in with my white for better coverage.
Vermillion in with my reds for better wear and coverage.
Brown, White, and Red for flesh colors.
Please for the sake of the art, buy a color wheel and learn how to use it. Also I might suggest Mike Stevens book on Layout and Design. Let's put an end to ugly signs in our lifetime. I don't like to single out anyone or group but these should be mandatory for the fly-by-night vinyl shops.
