One time one of the local volunteer fire departments brought in a water tender they just acquired. They intended to paint it when they had the funding, but for now, just magnets. The volunteer that came by with the truck to get the magnetic signs was a retired engineer, you know the type, he has a plastic insert in his chest pocket with a pencil and a slide rule. I demonstrate lining up the top of the sign parallel with the window line and rolling it down. I told him not to try re adjusting it by pulling, but to start over. He tells me that he has a leveling ap on his phone. I tell him we don't want it level, we want it aligned to the body lines of the cab. He tells me he also has an ap that will give a deviation chart so he can set it exactly. I explain that the level changes with who or how many are in the truck and how much water is in the tank. He had difficulty doing it without his tools.

One of my best friends is an engineer and I still have the urge to beat him senseless now and then, lol
