Traditionally we've seen business slow down from Christmas until tax time, then it all breaks loose. This year we seem to be bringing in plenty of work during the time when businesses usually don't spend. Wondering if others are noticing this climate change?

Definitely busier this year than has been typical for late December to March. Lots of building going on in this neck of the woods.There are rumors of a slow down coming.

Work shut off late November and has stayed off. Hope something comes in soon. Unusual for me. Usually new vans and trucks bought in Jan...but not.

Gosh, I thought I was going to slow down last week. On Saturday, I looked at my schedule and saw that the next week was completely blank, except for a Carousel horse that needs painting. But then the phone starting ringing,,,,New Work Truck, 2 Dump Trucks, 1 log truck, 1 highway truck and a painted mural going on the hood of a Jeep, and 6 banners. All repeat customers buying more vehicles. The economy up here is doing very good. Companies up here can't find enough good help. In Eastern Washington, because of the lack of pickers, apple crops are rotting on the trees. Lots of the pickers have gone into the construction trade. "Can you drive a backhoe?" "Si!"

I know its different for most of you guys with the cold weather and all, but for the last few years I could have disappeared the entire month of December until Three Kings Day, and no one would have missed me. This year we could have worked right up to Christmas day. Today, however, work is very slow. Its so hard to plan any vacation time.

Luckily we have always been busy during the winter and this one is no different.
I have a very big dimensional job starting that is due for 1 May, a couple more dimensional/sandblasted jobs and a few murals at the local college, and that job just seems to keep growing.

Been super quiet here-time to do some billboards for ourselves, and signwrite our van at last... and quoting on 2 murals on a water tank, 115 ft up from the ground, 20 x 35 ft size... It'll be interesting to see if they get funding.
Plus I have a horse-drawn hearse to rebuild and gild for a client.
Interestng times... 3D illuminated work we did so much of the last 3 years has ground to a halt.

I couldn't say as I've been shut down since August. The plans for the concrete are in production by the engineers so I'm hoping my pad will be poured within a week or two (if it stops raining long enough) then the building should be up in another month.
