Might be relocating the shop soon and wondering whether its worth it to continue to pay for that extra fax line. Most faxes that come over are spam for roofing companies and vacations. Customers that used to fax can send me info by email or cell phone now. Occasionally I use it for outgoing faxes like if someone requests a resale certificate but I can always scan and email that. Have you dropped your fax machine/line or do you still keep it?

I do have one regular customer who is Amish, and has no internet. He does have a land line and a fax machine. But that is about it.

When my fax machine died 4 years ago, I didn’t replace it.
I didn’t have a separate phone line for it.

Seems medical stuff is the only thing I see it used for now. Somehow it is considered more secure than email.

Can't you receive a fax on your computer?

I haven't used a fax for over 15 years. Good riddance.

Never bought one. I sometimes would have a local business fax something for me. But that was maybe 8 times.

Threw it out years ago. Always getting jammed. I remember a Bob Parsons SignCraft cartoon of a guy faxing a full size pinstripe design for the side of a bus.

If you would like to wean off from using it and also find out how much you are still using it,...Hook it up to your main line. When someone sends a fax and you hear the faxtone when you pick up a phone call, hit start and hang up the handset and you will receive the fax. I too have shut down the fax line.
