I just wrote a column for SectionHiker.com, a blog that has the most unique readers each month of any backpacking site on the internet. I got paid a modest fee and will be paid in the future for more content. Now, if I could just convince Sophie that my backpacking hobby is a money making proposition...

Man, Backpacking with Children, and your own children at that. I couldn't do it. Kids get into so much trouble. But it really is a great learning experience for them,,,,,as long as there are no snakes around.

Wonderful article! My first experience camping , was when I was 20, winter camping, using borrowed warm clothes and sleeping bag, no tent (used 5yd clear plastic under and over us.). I married the guy, and we have been married 43 yrs. We still go camping Diane

Things have been wild around here lately. Lots of storms, power out for days a couple times. Haven't checked the Bullboard in almost a month, only to find out Duncan had heart surgery while I was dreaming of hiking instead of glamping at home while using some of my backpacking gear to get by.
