Wow...look what the cat dragged in...it's me...I haven't been around in a while...I don't do signs anymore...guess that's why...however it's nice to see some old faces and listen in on "talking the trade"...though I never met any of you personally... only here in Letterville...I always had respect and fondness for the people here...by the way I'm enjoying every minute of retirement... though no more sign work to challenge me...my creative side is still expressed...[and with no digging holes mind you]... through painting landscapes and a few other artistic interests I have...here are my last 2 landscapes...these are imaginary places but I feel like I've been to places somewhat similar during my life time...I do hope they convey the reverence I feel for nature and stir your soul just a little...I'm still painting with digital brushes using hand held mouse.

My subject matter has always been purely nature but just for fun I decided to get contemporary and incorporate a con trail in this scene...center top going off frame.

I hope you keep posting em Rusty.

At the end of a long hard day they gave a little relaxation. Especially the first one. Even though I could hear that waterfall thundering it kinda felt like I was just sitting there watching it.

If you ever start missing the signs, maybe you could paint a couple of postholes in one of them. [Smile]

Rusty, good to see you!

As always, I really enjoy your artwork. From signs, to beautiful landscapes, they are really something else.

That waterfall looks inviting during this heat.

Thanks for sharing.

Bob

With each painting you post I see rapid progression and improvement. I always loved your style! I absolutely love the clouds in the bottom piece.

Keep posting!

That's pretty damn good stuff, especially the top pic, for being out of your head (you know what I mean) and doing it digitally to boot (I mean after booting up). I myself prefer working with the oils and brushes and all the other tools. One reason being that the paint itself does a lot of the job, doing a lot of the transparencies and color combinations by itself.
Is that a relief of a lion or bear's head I see on the big foreground rock?
I'm retired too but never get any time to paint. It seems I have six times as many chores to do now that when I was young. And I got little painting done when I was working because of lacking the energy after a day's work. So I've finished practically nothing for years.

EDIT: THIS GOT POSTED TWICE BECAUSE OF "FLOOD PROTECTION". What's that? And I'm not allowed to delete my own post.
Reminds me of someone I know who says, "Be careful what you say, because when you say something, it can never be taken back." Aaargh.
