Have you ever tried to remove 3M Premium vinyl from a cement tank barrel or a rubbish truck tank? Why is it sooooooo much harder to remove? I mean vinyl that may be only 3 or four years old. It just gets baked on! Son of a Biscuit Eater, it's tough to get off. I have used the 3M Intermediate on a few rubbish trucks, but I saw on a few spots peeling/lifting. I think I'm gonna try using the 3M ControlTac vinyl, let's see if that works better. Oh, and I don't think that it's the next guys problem to remove it because the next guy is usually me.

Hey Chica .... NO no nooooooooooo on easy to remove vinyl! Unless you want to be back replacing missing letters!
The high pressure washers that they use to clean them will blow the hide off a rhinoceros!
Do as I used to do ... tell them to bring them to me ready to letter ... otherwise they pay full shop rate for me to do the cleaning and that kind of work makes me very tired and so it would take me a long time to do it!

Yep, and that is exactly what is starting to happen to the 3M Intermediate. Although, it is rated for 5 years. I saw a couple of rubbish trucks that have some damage. BUT, I think it's from the acid baths. The tops of the letters are what is starting to get damaged. Whatever they are using is seeping under the vinyl,,,,and, and and, it has never happed to the original 3M Premium vinyl. But it's a byitch to remove. Time to fired up the rubber wheel thing, the Vinyl Zapper. I just hate the noise. This one particular company who's rubbish trucks I letter, once in a while will change the company name on the cabs and tanks. They have 3 different companies in one plant.

You think that's tough try removing vinyl from an unpainted aluminum gasoline tanker. I gave up and told them the only way I would re-letter their truck was to cover the old lettering with a vinyl panel and put the new logo on top of that. They went for it. I spent an hour removing part of 3 letters.
