Today I got the courage up to go through the file cabinets and look through all the files of customer paperwork.

Alot of times the files contained pencil sketches, computer renderings and pictures of the the completed jobs.

What a trip down memory lane!

Two files stood out, two that you know as well.

1. Chris Welker Wildfire Signs in Indiana, PA
We made a EIFS stucco monument sign for her for the American Red Cross. August 23, 2008
I have fond memories of times here in Letterville sparing with her.

2. Rick Beisiegel, Vital Signs & Graphics
We set a record for the biggest EIFS stucco monument sign we thought we dare make ( at the time ) for Rick for a residential neighborhood called Sunrise Haven.

Well, the files are in the recycle bin, now.
It was hard to close that chapter of my career.

The last EIFS stucco monument sign I built was last fall, for a local customer, and old time friend I met at BNI (Remember BNI?) They said we would life long business friends in that group, and they were right.

It still is a good feeling to see some of the signs we made around town. We got our signs to last far past the 10 year projection mark, some are over 15 years old now and still look great.

So, Rick and Chris, if you see this, please give me an update on the monument signs we made for you, good or bad. Thanks

Gosh, maybe somewhere on the web, there can be a way do keep the designs alive. You know, sign in/ register and you can download the file. Kinda like Designs of the World. Maybe, maybe, WE can charge for the files? Kinda help in the retirement fund. "The Fund for Old Signpainters"

Dave

It still looks great! I'd like to think it's because of superior painting skills, but I'm willing to share the credit. [Wink] My file shows production at 2005

Enjoy your retirement, and I pray that you find passion in whatever you choose to do. My best to your family too [Smile]

Thanks Rick for posting the picture and the words of encouragement.

I really like the rock foundation you set the sign on. That makes the whole project look 1st class!

I think now, looking at your picture, I should have strongly encouraged several earth tone colors
to paint the caps and columns. I can't remember why it was all "stucco" white.

Thanks again for sharing....you da man! brother!

I just did a go through of old files.

I had to laugh at some of the abbreviations we used to have to use for old software.

Bruce...I remember those days when file names were restricted to something like 8 or 9 characters. It led to some very creative abbreviations for sure. [Big Grin]
