I almost hate to ask this,; it kind goes against what I stand for...but
Does anyone have a suggestion for getting some decals done? Signs 365 won't do them, at least they said they couldn't. 36" x 28", four or five colors, depending how you look at it. One color is silver, black, bright red, bright blue and white (or clear). need six ea. Goes on several trucks along with some lettering that I can cut.
The killer seems to be the aluminum or silver image. I don't know about latex printers, but silver isn't popular. Maybe I should get them silk screened?
THanx in advance for any help. Jer

Is there any way to apply the silver as a cut vinyl layer to a printed 4cp decal? That would be your best bet.
30 years ago I'd screen print them but the cost of a 5 or 6 color decal, that size and that few in number would be HUGE.
If they were small, that would be an easy Edge job or maybe someone here has one of the large format thermal transfer units that could print white on silver as an under base and than add the color.

Like Bill said,,,,Since I'm sure you have vector artwork to work with, just cut out the Metallic Silver. Put it on the decal, cover it with Transfer tape and you're off. Customers don't know the difference. They have no clue about solid vinyl colors, digital prints, Gerber prints. All they care about is the the job look good when you are done. I once put black vinyl on a digital/laminated print. The black on the print was no where near as black as the same copy going under the print. Customer loved the job and off he went. It's all stickers anywayz!

All of the newer Roland Versacam printers are able to print 6+ colors, one of which is a Silver. Not everyone chooses to use this color, but I am sure you can find someone who does. Just call your local Roland dealer and they should help you out. Bye the way, they also print White.
