Got the motors turning today. I made a vector file in SignWizard, turned it into G-code in Aspire, which has Mach3 post processors, and Mach3 executed it with no problem. I still have to calibrate the software so that size and cutting is precise, make sure everything is adjusted, heat up the wire, and it should be ready to cut some foam.

Thanks Craig. It's large enough to cut two 3x4x10 blocks of foam simultaneously. Multiple wires can be added for production work, and I plan to add a 5th axis later. The electronics for that have already been built into the controller so I just have to add the mechanics.

I calibrated Mach 3 to thefoam cutter and had a little 2" packing foam to try it out on. So I threw together this vector file of a "monument sign" in SignWizard, turned it into G-Code in Aspire, and exported it to Mach 3. I had the wire temperature and feed rate set about right and this is what it did.

As far as being ready for work, the foam cutter is fully operational now. All that is left is to install limit switch and emergency stop systems, install the bed and some safety panels on the Y and A axis. So I designed a few decals to stick on the guards.

The machine is very cool but I look forward to seeing what you create with it!
