Got this email inquiry from a "potential" client asking me for a quote to produce their logo on their new 2014 Ford Econoline van. My response when I saw it: "Uggh" What to do, what to do? Maybe quote them $2,000 to put that logo on and $500 for me to put my redesign on!

I'd say re-align the P and S and V to line up correctly vertically.
Decrease the sub copy of the name a bit.
Make the website name a bit larger and all lowercase.
Drop the phone number to the next line and decrease the size of the physical address a bit.
Just my thoughts.
edited to add...
I might edit the S so that it's "ends" follow the line of the V and the swoosh too.

Give them a quote, you probably will never hear back. If you do, produce the logo, pocket the money...done. In this day and age of ugly logos, the frustration involved in trying to educate the customer brings up the old "teaching a pig to dance" adage. They have been in business since 87. You stand the possibility of insulting them and losing the job.

Dave, I like your input. Make the needed subtle changes and charge accordingly. But I might also see if I can upgrade it to a more contemporary look. But after quoting I doubt they will have me do the work, they are probably price shopping.

Have you ever looked at the descriptive reasoning, that some of these "designers" use, to try to explain how this logo came about?
Paragraphs may be devoted to giving the "feel of...." or showing the "ambiance" or conveying the "visual messaging" or the "charismatic flow" any one of dozens of ridiculous and frivolous statements about the origins and "meaning" of a stupid and ugly logo.
And you know, even though Dave's "adjustments" may make the logo appear better, I've actually had customers that got offended, when I tried to make such changes in their prized artwork.
I guess I'd either swallow hard, and do the job, as proposed (pricing it accordingly, to counteract the gastric distress)....or just walk away.....laughing.

Of course, every sign company in the area was asked to quote on this design and the lowest quote gets it, even if only by one dollar. Good chance even the design was ripped off from an earlier quote that was priced too high for them and wasn't final art at all.
This kind of behavior has gone on for years. The only difference is that they're too lazy now to even get in their cars.
