We've now completed our fourth day at Tokyo Disney and have gathered more than sixteen hundred photographs of work that will inspire me for years to come. Everywhere I look I see awesome dimensional work with detail that is amazing. As I look I wonder why we don't see more in the 'real' world. This type of work is all we do in our shop but I wonder why there isn't far more.
Take the three signs I post today. Their job is humble. The first points the way to the bathrooms in the area of the Pinocchio attraction. The second and third identify the washrooms. The signs are simple yet clever. They make you smile. They also tell a story.
There are tens of thousands of people that visit these parks every day and they pay a great deal of money for the privilege. There are Disney parks around the world that are just as busy. Why do people go? I believe they do it for the experience and the signs are an important part of that experience. By extension I believe there is a need and demand for this type of signage everywhere. I believe the world would be a better and happier place if it were true. I also firmly believe we can do and sell signs like this or far better if we choose.
In order to sell it we need to first create a studio and website that showcases this kind of work. Build it and they will come!
After our time here we are inspired and determined to do much more creative work in the future.

You are 100% correct & really like seeing these pictures, this is why many of us are in this industry to create a image ya want to dream about & enjoy as ya wander down the roads & have fun shopping.
More & more retail is heading to entertainment of customer & with advertising on location, a big retail giant Bass Pro Shop comes to mind & they are taking even farther these days it is like going to Disney when going there, so others will follow once they see it it really works.

I do belive a Signs are very important, but the most imported is the creativity of the sign and the artist who can come up with something out of the box , in order to catch the eye of the spectator,.. where it makes the artist think on the improves of the Art, Thanks for sharing Dan!

Truly inspiring. To answer the question though Dan from where Im based, why not in the real world, economics. Most busineses here are just beginning to turn the corner but budgets are tight, very tight. Hopefully, at some point in the future, purse strings will be loosened to allow us to be more creative. In the meantime, Ill continue to admire your work
