Fascinating... but have you tried them, Wayne - in your router I mean. They're cheap enough for a taste, I mean test.
(note that they're 6mm diam, not 1/4")
I like the Onsrud endmills, but I keep a bunch of cheap Chinese ones too, for those unexpected breakages...

I found it was worth having both 1/4" and 6mm collets, too... the options available in 6mm are good. I had a harder time getting the 6mm collet though-Perske spindle V50/60 collets are not so common.

That's what I discovered too. Ian. I'm sure the extra collet will be worth the investment. I bought a pack of 5 of the 6mm Chinese bits to try with the aluminum cutting.
I tried WD40 as a lubricant/coolant but it gave be a headache both times even though I had a 21,000cfm exhaust fan running 'downwind' of it. So I need to set up for some of the waterbased coolant so I don't lose anymore of the few brain cells I have left.

There is some proper good aluminium cutting oily stuff you can get that works wonders Wayne. I'll have to find the name of it for you.
