Interesting article, and written by one of my favorite 70s music groups, Simon Garfield.

I was once asked to make a dimensional sign from this design...don't know what font this is but it is really bad...with the kids gone and the bills paid I was lucky to be in a position to turn down this job...some day I'll get a picture of what eventually was put up at he site.

I have 2 that I think are horrible (besides Old English caps [Smile] [Smile] )

One is called The Gingerbread House. It was spec'ced to me, by a girl with a beauty salon. I hated doing the sign; it's so FUGLY! I deleted it off my computer as soon as I finished the job, and haven't had the desire or the request to use it since.

The other is called Scriptina. This is a very frilly font, fairly widely used by some hoity-toity boutiques, etc. Depending on the letters involved, or how they're spaced, they can be almost impossible to read. And on a sign, if there is a premium of space, this lettering style takes up a LOT of room.
