I was asked to provide a set of metal letters to go on a building two blocks from the ocean. Client is looking for "brushed nickle" finish. Gemini has stainless steel letters that they say the finish will last for "several years" before it starts to turn dull. Is there another source for a more durable letter? "Several years" is too vague to tell a client - is several 5 years, 10 years, ?

Jean, to me , nickel is a softer colour or sheen than chrome, so a brushed nickel might be a softer or duller version of a brushed shiny metal. I'd think that stainless steel ought to be fine.

Some of the stainless I've been getting develops rust stains within a couple years. Not the quality of metal we used to get. Cast aluminum lasts on the coast as long as you don't put a metallic finish on it without a very durable barrier coat to prevent electrolysis. Aluminum is far more affordable.
