This is my first can of Sign Foam Primer. The primer is watery at best, has to dry overnight, and even after 3 coats doesn't really fill all the open holes.
I've heard Rave reviews but at this point, I'm going back to Precision Board's Primer. Of course most of my local suppliers don't carry the precision board HDU so that is why I am using Sign Foam.
Is anyone else having he same issues? or is this normal with this product?

I use Grip & Seal by Coronado about $29.00 its a laytex sealer/stain killer covers very well and quick recoat time. I also use this on vinyl banners and billboards that I want to paint with buletin enamals.

Ray and Wayne, I am used to FSC-88 and love it. I bought this because my local suppliers do not carry Coastal. I did however talk to a guy over at Coastal last week and he gave me a couple of contacts to obtain the FSC-88.
I use their crack filler as well.

I will call you Bob I want to get the FSC-88 again. I DO NOT Like the expensive sign foam primer.
Also I need a supplier around here that will carry the Precision Board in 18lb as well. Sign Foam has bullied all the suppliers around me telling them that if the were to carry both lines that Sign Foam would drop them. I personally like the Precision Board 18lb the best.

I agree Jake, I have a couple suppliers names. Karyn I've heard great news about the older SignPrime. This new stuff just doesn't work for what I am used to.
I heard that same thing Jake, but I cannot confirm it to be anything other than rumor.
Karyn, I think you're thinking of the older SignPrime.

I agree with Chris about Jay Cook's primer. That stuff works on everything! It dries fast for recoating and sands well. I think it is widely available. I've used it on sign foam and had no problems with it. Good luck.
