On both my Windows machines, I cannot stay logged into Letterville. On my desktop, at least it keeps my name and password entered, but I still have to log in to get to the bullboard. On my laptop I have to type in everything even though every time I log in I check "keep me logged in". Then when I post, it just sits there "processing". I have to click on the topic to get back. The laptop has Windows 7 home premium and the desktop has Windows 7 Professional. Same thing with my home page. Neither computer will bring me to my home page. I have to log into my e mail account every time.
Everything works like it has for years on the Mac. All three machines have the latest version of Firefox, and this is when the problems started. Is it a Windows 7 problem, a Firefox problem, or do I have some screwed up settings?

Dave when you open firefox go to the tools menu then to the options at the bottom,....when that window opens select the security tab and then click on the saved passwords button,....when the password window opens select the entry for letterville and click the remove button at the bottom of that window....the next time you log on to letterville there will be a password bar that pops up and asks if you want firefox to save your password click the save button,...this should fix any screwed up passwords or logins that have been accidently saved to firefox,...this may very well solve your login problems then again it may not,..but its worth a try,....

I'm using Firefox on XP with my laptop and my desktop and I don't have any problem staying logged in. So, it's not likely to be a problem with Firefox itself. Have you tried using another browser to see if you get the same result?

Russ, didn't have any problems with XP, but then that was an older version of Firefox also. I started having the problems when Firefox downloaded it's latest upgrade so I'm not sure if the upgrade doesn't like windows 7 (unlikely I think) or the upgrade screwed with my settings. I'll give Tim's suggestion a try tomorrow.
Thanks guys.

I had the same problems with the F'Fox updates. Had the Save Passwords ticked, still nuttin. Iwent into some of the other settings and made some obvious changes, don;t ask which ones, and now it seems to save for me. Plus it remembered this one for the forum. Just take a gander inside the settings mate.

OK, I finally figured it out. Firefox now ties in browsing history with remembering passwords. If I remember right it used to do that with cookies because I always had Firefox clear history when closing, and now the only way it will remember the passwords and let me jump right into my e mail or Letterville without logging in is to uncheck clear browsing history when Firefox closes.
Edit: Well it still won't take me back to the topic automatically after posting. They call this an upgrade???? I may switch to Chrome.
