OK. I fell for it. Wanted to be greener and tried the Orange smelling stripper. Only problem is that it is not very strong and if you get any on your hands, it turns skin black! Anyone else had similar difficulties?

Just like paint, cleaners and strippers must have the correct solvent for the job and Limonene used as a cleaner with the smell of citrus is usually used but there are two types where one doesn't work as well as the other and just like some paint companies the answer is " its not cost effective "

The last stripper I was around had kind of a funny smell.... not like citrus at all.... however, I did like the environment and she was friendly.

Superior Chemical has a product called TRAPPER...best stuff around...been using it for 15+ years, although if you are sensitive to orange peels, like oranges you eat, make sure you wear gloves.
BTW did you know the active ingredients in Rapid Prep are (get this) COCONUTS???!!!?? Had to send in MSDS for an install coming up later this month...cool...

The d-limonene is a fantastic ingredient, think of it as a knife blade and you want to cut acrylic. It works good, however the knife blade needs to be honed(sharpened a certain way for certain needs)so as to work better with certain materials. Yes it can be honed (adding small amounts of other ingredients) to cut acrylic/latex or to cut grease or foam etc. We hone it for the best and fastest cutting of acrylic and latex adhesives (the grease and oil cutting is a side effect "no charge" he he he )
It is still water soluable. Our formula is straight (no water) if you add a couple drops of water you will see a clouding difference right away. Very expencive to purchase pure food grade d-limonene, if you buy from a real chemical supply co. Lots of watered down products out there.
