I'm not particularly religious, nor do I believe in miracles, but what we saw today in Toronto comes as close to one as anything I've seen in my life.
I'm gonna go ponder 'devine intervention' for a while.
It's nice to see a news story with a happy ending for a change.

I totally agree Mike, that could have been a disaster...

One would think that while the two "Bus Drivers" screwed th' pooch" badly, first in the choice to land in a violent thunderstorm, and then making a particularily "Hot landing" when they could have easily landed in a couple of optional and clear Airports . . the "Guys and Gals in th' back" did their jobs to a "T" . . . Hats off to a fine and well trained crew . .
Remember that next time you get a little aggravated at a "Stew" for not being right there to wait on you hand and foot when you fly . . . Their job is not just to make you feel good and important . . it's to save your life if the need arises . . .

Yeah but how many people have survived a plane crash, got onto another plane and crashed again? The odds are with 'em. Yep Don, I think all of them are rethinking a lot of things. Those wacky French pilots should lay off the wine while flying, LOL.

Did you guys see the pics from the next day? Just a bunch of ash and debris in the shape of a plane! Incredible that everyone got off. I don't remember a crash like that ever with no fatalities.

I had just taken off from San Francisco when that happened. Almost every channel had the breaking story on it - I think it caused a lot of unease, not exactly the thing you want to hear when you are just taking off. The girl behind me was pretty nervous, I said that the chances of two planes crashing in the same day must be way less than the chance of being struck by lightning - a few mins later some woman being interviewed said she saw lightning hit the plane - too funny. It wasn't however so funny when we hit turbulance landing and the pilot said that we were facing gusts of wind and sudden updrafts. Or when the white paper bags started coming out of the seat pockets. I was very fortunate that none of the connections I had were affected by the crash. Lots of flights were delayed and connections were missed, they were paging customers for last calls constantly in Calgary.
