My New years Project is to finally learn to cut directly from Corel and dump the obsolete cutting program I have - it only reads from Corel 6 which means I have to export my file to Corel 8, open it and then export to Corel 6. I'm not sure why this is but that's the only way I can get it to work. [I Don t Know]
I'm not a techie kind of person and too much information at once will just shut me down.
Can anyone help.
Is there a link to a site that will explain the process? I've tried doing a search here, but I'm at home on Dial-up and it takes forever.
Thanks

Kelly...There is a basic info page at THIS LOCATION

The info contained there applies to all versions of Corel from 4 up.

That will get you started, but Old Paint or timi can give you the specifics of what settings to change on the actual plotter. I have never used a PNC 1100.

The two biggest stumbling blocks are....forgetting to assign a "hairline" outline to anything you wish to cut....and not having the cutter set up so that the blade carriage travels to the left side of the cutter to start cutting. (All signmaking programs require the carriage to begin cutting from the right side.)

Thanks Dave. I knew you'd come through!
I won't have a problem with the hairline issue cause I already have to do that.

I'm not quite sure if you are saying that the cutter should start on the left or on the right. If it is on the left I'm good to go!

I'll print this out after I see if there is any more info and put it in my binder.

Yes Kelly, If your cutter moves to the left side before commencing cutting then you should be set to go.

Remember that the Corel Page should be set to landscape view and be set to the default max cutting length and width of the cutter. (Something like 62.99"x22.99") You can always set the length of cut to be longer if necessary.

When you have hit "print" be sure to use the "print preview" window to look at things. The page in there should be the eaxct same size and orientation as the Corel page, and the object that you want to cut should be in the same location on the page as it was on the Corel page.

You don't mention what operating system you are using XP, 2000, ME, 98 etc. They all have different drivers for cutting from Corel, and if you are using either 2000 or XP there is more than one driver available. BUT there is only ONE that works correctly. I can e-mail it to you if you are using either XP or 2000. I'd have to e-mail it today though if you want it.
