Heather finally the got her first batch of mail today! It was just in the nick of time for Barb and I. We fly home tomorrow.
A couple of the nurses commented on the huge volume of mail. We told her we had a huge, loving family that lived around the World. As far as we are concerned, it's the absolute truth. I've never felt so honoured to know all of you.
Heather will be in hospital for at least another 4 weeks. Now that the strike is over, she'll be getting more tests. We left a bunch of reading material, treats and writing materials to help keep her occupied. She has some important choices to make, but she knows there are lots of people that care.
We're sorry we never got to see or do as much as we had hoped. After 3 trips to Vancouver, we still have not managed to make it over to Vancouver Island.
There was still some special memories. Spending a few hours with George and Susan MacKinnon at Roadhouse Designs was a thrill. And then there was our day with Donna, Mike and Cody Williams. Over the years, we have grown very close to the William's Family.
On Tuesday afternoon, we finally got a chance to meet John Lennig and his enchanting wife Lyn. The four of us really seemed to hit it off. When Lyn invited us to stay for Supper, we jumped at the opportunity. Pacific Coho Salmon was on the menu. It don't get much better!
It's bedtime! We have to be up at 5am to return the rental and make our 7am flight. Thanks Letterville. We love ya!

Thanks for the update, Steve. I am so happy that Heather is finally getting her mail. I want her to be overwhelmed by it! (in a good way of course) Sometimes knowing that people care about you can make all the difference in your attitude. I hope you have a safe trip back to Fergus. Love...Jill

That's real nice! I never got my card mailed and posted to see if she was still there at the same address but never heard. Would you please repost the address and I'll send it to her right away.
Be careful going home!
Thanks!

Glad to hear things are a bit better. Yeah, post that address again, please. Those of you who put it off would have another opportunity to send a card. Some of us who already sent one, could send another. That way the cards will be spread out over a longer period of time, not just one big clump....and what is the postage to Canada again?

Barb and Steve, I'm sorry you didn't make it to our beautiful island again this trip, but it sounds like you were in good hands with George and Susan, John and Lyn and Donna and her family. I'm glad your daughter is making progress. I stopped in to see Dan Sawatsky at his most recent project to see if you would be coming, but he informed me otherwise. While there, Dan gave us a quick tour of his creations........AMAZING!!... Words cannot describe what this man creates. So until your next visit...we wish you well and please keep the good work. Safe trip home. Sue
