It's a substrate, I think I've seen it talked about here, maybe used for countertops. There's some cut out letters at the grocery store, about two inches thick (5cm?), real glossy surface, is this the same material? Will this hold up outdoors?
Is Diebond imitated by anyone, if so,what is the competitor's name brand?
I'm about to bid on some outdoor cut-out letters. Thanks for any help.
P.S. I only need it about 1" (2.5-3 cm?) thick.

I doubt the letters would be Corian or Avonite solid countertop material because of high weight and cost in that thickness. If the letters you saw are indoors they could very well be thin Formica (the other countertop material) over a foam base. I believe that is generally agreed NOT for exterior use. They could also be molded - which would be great for outdoors a-la Gemini Letters.
