~ Know your limitations - pace yourself ~

Some of us I'm sure are having extended vacations. I personally am not returning to work until Jan 5!

What will I do with all this time off from work? I'm attempting to fit in some visiting I don't have time for when in the work mode. With visiting relatives and friends, comes alot of planning, some expense and an enormous chunk of time. Blend in those three factors and do it too often, you're on your way to potential stress leading to illness. (you guessed it, I get sick when stressed) Knowing your personal limitations and listening to your own needs will help you keep on track.

How I cope is to allow one activity a day, say, a visit with friends, but keep it to only one thing. Another goal I strive for when possible is to space the activites out, giving myself every other day with no plans.

In work mode already? I do the exact same thing for work when I can. I plan one off site trip a day, two if they're in the same general area and time frames will work. I try and design and cut one day and install on a different one to be more productive in my shop. Saves me time and effort if I don't have to drive all over town every single day, therefore I'm automatically less stressed knowing my days are well planned out.

Think about your coping strategies and see if you don't feel less stressed if you follow through on them. Makes a world of difference for me!

One activity a day is a great idea! I'm still stuck on your cleaning mini-goals! I actually cleaned yesterday everything that was on top of something - was amazed at the amount of trash! Donna keep up these great posts!

My activity for today was to locate and fix a plumbing leak that has been developing and increasing over the last couple of days. We are on well water so we can tell if a leak occurs because the pressure pump will cycle at times when no water is being used.

Well, I located the leak. The dishwasher connection under the sink. What a relief, this is gonna be an easy fix!

After Shirl gets finished in the kitchen I'll go get some wrenches and teflon tape and play Mr. Fixit for a few minutes.

Sometimes ya get lucky! [Applause] [Applause]

{edited to say... Donna, the "gently falling snow" is rapidly going to disappear!! Highs for the next couple of days 7-9C. Sunny all day today with no wind. Life IS indeed good. LOL [Wink] [Wink] }

We haven't been out of the house for a couple days and Cody's cough is progressing so I think today will be to go into town to get him checked out. (kept us up all night, there's the first clue!)

I think I can manage to squeeze in one more activity. Go pick up my fav coffee in town. [Smile] Then no other plans. We'll see what comes up. I love those kind of days.

Tomorrow we visit with friends for brunch and the afternoon. Tomorrow is taken care of so no more plans there. It's all about good planning.

Dave, you got off VERY lucky indeed! May Shirl not find a hundred other things for you to fix while you're on your knees! LOL Hey, we had a dusting of snow today! I can see it here and there in the field. A dusting is a good sign! Waiting waiting patiently...

Camille, good for you on getting one pile outa the way! One pile at a time, stop for breaks, treats, and keep going. You'll find your table tops soon.

Cool Monte, getting ready to tackle the world. Let us vacationing ones know how it feels when you're there. [Smile]

Happy planning!
