Hi all, I'm pretty new to the sign business, although I have been creating computer graphics for ad specialties for 13 years. My question: I have a customer that wants me to quote a sign--or directory for names and locations for 1800 gravesites so the sites and "great-uncle Ned" can be located easily by geneologists. There are 1800 names, 1800 plots that need identifying. In addition, they need a key and map for the cemetery and block lable signs. I have about 4'x 8' plus an additional 4' for add-ons for the name-sign and about that for the map to work with. Vinyl is out because weeding would be a nightmare...I don't have access to screen-printing..I thought about digital printing on vinyl applied to sintra board with a clear urethane panel over the top to protect from UV. HELP!--I need suggestions and price ideas. Thanks, Kelly

Hi There. In this situation, I'd consider engraving the names on small brass plates ( like those on the base of trophys ) These could then be bonded to a 4x8 of aluminum plate that was also engraved with the name of the cemetary, and colour filled. Any additional names could then be easily added as required. An epoxy cement would bond the small nameplates to the aluminum panel. Talk to a local engraver or trophy supplier about the costs of the brass plates, and seek out a shop in your area to supply and engrave the aluminum plate. Just a suggestion...keep us posted on which way you decide to go, and the ultimate price you arrive at. I for one would be very interested.

I did a soccer board on Fiberbrite using vinyl but only had about 200 names. They loved it. Probably need an Edge print or engraving
