This is some sort of Honda cruiser, it's got some nice lines to it.

Actually, my BMW is a dark forest green & one of my Hondas is a candy apple red ;^) I was taking a workshop from Craig Frasier one year and asked why all the cars on the magazines were never white or some other color instead of black, he couldn't really give me a good answer.

Joe took the words right out of my mouth...great article in signcraft. got some hok here and have not had luck with it over the years and have not used it in quite a while, so will be giving it another go. I was wondering however, you didn't mention how it covers, so I'm curious about how you fine it, and are you needing to double coat. Thanks, Pat.

Pat, coverage with both HOK and DuPont is as good if not better than the enamels. HOK has had some bad batches get out that didn't cover well. They have always been good about replacing with good ones, just take a phone call to the factory.
Double coating, no haven't had to, but I've always shied away from problematic color combinations like primrose yellow over black.
I did want to mention that DuPont is available in 4 oz. cans now. They have also come out with a bunch of new colors for a total of 26, while HOK has been discontinuing colors Posted by Pat Welter (Member # 785) on :

Brian, some years ago, when I was doing promotional and advertising work for our 4 Wheel Drive organization in Ohio, I talked to a couple of guys from 4 Wheeler and Off Road Magazines.
Both of them told me that for promo, advertising and photo-op shots, they prefer black or some darker color to white, yellow or light colors....because the colors of the graphics, striping or lettering show up better. If you'll look in Hot Rod or Car Craft,or other mags, most of the pics of the big car shows are of dark colored vehicles.
