Got a call from an old client. Butler Vagabonds Their marching band van was fading pretty badly. I first repainted the lettering on the front of the box more than 10 years ago. Was alone on the jobsite and my ladder fell, leaving me stranded on the van roof till somebody showed up. Anyway, this cartoon was originally painted many years ago by a band member. He has since died from cancer. They decided to finally have the vagabond repainted. Got him done between thunderstorms just in time for a parade tonight. He's not my design, and I repainted him verbatim. (except the nose as per request) But it was a fun job and I made some nice money. And Justis was there in case my ladder fell. He wasn't even here back then! Also had an interesting conversation while painting with one of the founders, an 88 year old man who was once a house painter. He knew all about mixing white lead and linseed oil and japan dryers. Neat day. Love....Jill

Nice! Funny how the nose change makes him look younger!
