.. too bad this guy wasn't ever a customer and instead of asking how it's done, he chooses to accuse me of passing a paint job off as a vinyl job, when it actually IS a vinyl job!

Here's an email I received just minutes ago, submitted via my Inquiry form on my website..

Below is the result of your feedback form. It was submitted by

Question_Comments: Do you honestly think that anyone would believe that the airbrushed tank with the deep clear coat was done with vinyl?

Well, here's the picture in question, straight from my website..

My email to him in response: [Smile]

Tom, your comment proves the quality of my vinyl work, i.e.: it's freakin awesome!

Yes, those flames are vinyl, you may not believe it but it is the honest truth. Here is a link to a picture of the vinyl still on the paper backing after it was airbrushed. http://stickerpimp.com/graphics/flames/dane-sample.jpg

If you need further proof, I can put you into contact with the customer who ordered those flames, Dane Lacey. He applied the flames himself then took the tank and fenders to a paint shop to have a drop shadow added then the whole thing buried under clearcoat.

In fact, here's links to the other photos the customer sent:

Hey I actually got an email back from the guy. I figured he used a fake email address but apparently he didnt.

His response:

Well Mike, take it as a compliment, I am completely impressed...
I think it was the clearcoat that threw me...I was unaware that you
could clearcoat vinyl...I am impressed!!!

Tom

Well, I'm not gonna tell him ya really shouldn't bury vinyl under clearcoat, although it can and has been done in the past. [Smile]
