Since I have been coming here to Letterville there has been support visible for so many folks for so many things and now it my turn to ask.

My Fathe,r who is 73, was operated on last night for an aneurysm (swollen artery) in his abdomen. He was in theatre for over 6 hours and things did not go well. He is on a ventilator and sedated. The next few days will tell but it has been a shock to his system.

If you are a praying person I would appreciate some prayers on his behalf. His name is Mike Cullinane

Thanks Folks

A footnote to the situation...................
i have just returned from seeing dad and he seems to be doing well, good colour and the nurse said he is stable and his blood pressure is under control with medication.

Jill thanks for saying that about the tubes and all that i think it better prepared me for it.

My Wife Catherine works in the hospital so she is able to drop in on him once in while.

Thanks for the support everyone i know i felt it this morning

Miles..I WILL say a prayer for yor father.

My father, age 81, just passed away from that exact condition. I just wish his had been diagnosed before it was too late. [Frown]

Keep your head up and we will all pray for his recovery.

My thoughts are with you. My Dad is seventy and is still an invaluable co-worker and friend to me. In fact he's probably my best friend as well

Hello Miles.
How sad for you and your family at this time of the year.
I lost an uncle in this way. It is good that your Dad's problem has been detected and hopefully eliminated.
He knows you are there with him, I am sure. It is scary to see a father laid low with all kinds of tubes and machines attached. It is amazing how someone who always looked larger than life to us as a child can look so frail in a hospital bed.
I know that you have a very strong faith, and it will help you and your father to get through this trying time.
I will add my prayer as a link in this chain...prayers can do miracles. I wish you and your family the best possible outcome.
Love- JILL

Miles, we all are praying for your father. I will be 76 soon and I can tell you that having a positive attitude is a big help. Let your father know that you have every confidence that he will recover and it will help him believe it.
