Anyone use Benjamin Moore's acrylic latex on your sandblasted signs (or on anything else)?

Have been using Sherwin Williams DTM and Superpaint for a few years but the store is 25 miles away and the ben moore store is much closer(bout 5 miles). Will be using the same Ben Moore paint colors, for a customer's project, that they used on their building.

How do their paints and solid color stains rate against Sherwin Williams or others?
Thanks

I used BM before because a client was already using one of their colors. They may have more conviently located stores, but (IMHO) Porter covers better.

SW covers much better.

I was just looking at the colors the customer has checked on the BM color cards, I can mix these colors from some SW we already have on hand.
I was wondering how good their paint is though.
OK, Thanks guys

I tried the Benjamin Moore Impervex high gloss latex on sandblasted redwood. I always thought BM was quality paint. I don't any more.

I used it because of a customers insistance. They picked the colors and the paint they wanted me to use. I just finished the refurbish last month. he sign was up only 5 years. The colors were so faded the sign was almost unreadable.

I've never had One Shot go that bad in 7 years. I like to stay with sign paints when ever I can and leave the house paints for houses.

At one time I insisted on Benjamin Moore paints for all my murals... and used a lot of paint.

But a number of years ago they changed their formula and I had some problems with the paint. Coverage sure isn't what it used to be either.

These days Im a General Paint guy. But it isn't a national brand, or international as far as I know.

I've sure been pleased with the paint and have used it pretty well exclusively for the last 8 years or fso with amazing results!

Try to get the Porter paint Wayne. Probably the best available in latex based paints. Covers exceptionally well, and is rated at many years durability. House paint aint just for houses anymore guys. [Smile]

Thanks guys
I use OneShot whenever I have to(using it on a job right now), but try to avoid oilbased paints of any kind as much as possible. Latex is working well for me on dimensional signs.

I'll have to try the Porter paints.
