This message pops up every month or so. The window header says Norton Antivirus.
Its a small box that only says:
"cannot read subscription data may need admin priviledges" then it has an OK button.
It is on my home system, so hasn't concerned me as much as it otherwise would. I checked my "auto-update" settings & they seem to be working, the AV seems to be up to date, & it comes up clean whenever it does a scan...
but it still makes me nervous. I've been thinking of asking here for months, so today it happened while browsing the BB at a weekend pace & it seemed the time to ask if anyone knows what the problem could be caused by.

Thanks Matty!
thats some slightly heave reading there, but I just spent a half hour getting to know my AV software a little better. As usual (for me) even following the very first suggestion (verify permissions), in a long list of suggestions, is somehow still a difficult & elusive task. I have bookmarked the link & am confident that the solution is somewhere in there. I expected a reinstall may be neccessary, & looking ahead at the "list" it may be worth trying that first if I don't figure out how to "Verify permissions"
