As far as I'm concerned, just the fact that that decision was reversed makes THEIR gold shine even brighter now!
I'm very happy for it. Felt the need to express it.
My heartfelt congrats to the Canadian pair's well deserved, though untimely victory! In the eyes of the mass majority, they were winners all along!

Janet You are right... They deserved it!
We have some very Strong Talent here in this country and they were ones that were Robbed on it!!!!
Nice to see the judges turn this deccision around!
We can walk on Water up here in Canada! FROZEN WATER THAT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As well as a little bit of dance on top of it as well!

Woman Who Smiles!
Thanks for posting this, last I heard (yesterday)they had chosen not to swap the medals.
I feel better now! I know they do!!!!!!

Justice SHOULD have been served by reversing the medals. This was FRAUD, pure, plain and simple. Did you listen to that moron Lauer and the Russian lady coach this morning? What a total load of crap!
Those Canadian kids were ROBBED of their moment of glory, with their flag in the middle and their anthem playing. Franco/Russian crap!
And the Ukranian judge?? That's what they call equity? Russia, the Ukraine, who cares? They BOTH vote the same because they're both Russia, despite the "Names".
Long live Canada! Screw the IOC! Corrupt to the very core.

Right on Pierre.... That's exactly how I feel, at first I had some sympathy for the Russians.. but after what that guy said... I don't have no sympathy anymore. I believe the Canadian pair are a classy act the way they handled themselves.. before and after! Now what the hell are we going to do about that Hockey team of ours? Neil

Canadian skaters - screwed over by a French judge...
The FBI should have arrested that woman before she could leave the country.
The IOC will do little if anything about this other than window dressing.

I, too, am happy with the decision. And, as a Canadian, I must say I am very proud of the way David and Jamie have conducted themselves. They've impressed us not just as athletes but as people.

Just some thoughts I had while wondering what ever happened to Jim Craig...
The Canadian skaters got jobbed. Like Pierre said, they may have the medals but they were robbed of the glory, the pomp and circumstance, the joy of seeing your flag raised and the national athem being played.
I can not express my absolute true feelings on this matter because it just makes my blood boil and my heart ache.
This whole thing is disgraceful.
Have a great one!

Bruce, it may be small consolation, but apparently there will be a presentation with flag and anthem later in the week.
Let's hope this opens the doors to some real reform of the judging procedures.

I am very happy for the Canadians too, but what do you guys think of the Aussie speed skater winning gold?? chuckle chuckle.
Posted by Joey Madden (Member # 1192) on :
Yes David I saw that race with the Austrailian winning and then the announcers stated in order to be fair they should race over, what a crock!
Alls fair in love and war.
Regards to the Canadian skaters, we all know the French never collaborate! Those two should have won outright.

It doesn't look like this thing is over yet. The judge just said that she didn't feel pressured to vote one way or the other. That she voted her feelings. Now we'll hear that the west was doing the pressuring after the event to change the results.

That Aussie guy is a hoot. Glad he won if Ohno didn't. The race could not be rerun or restarted because it was completed. The races you might have seen rerun were stopped in the middle. It's like auto racing, if you stay away from the wrecks and cross the finish line first, you win.

Aussie Rules!!! Hey, he won his gold medal fair & square. Although he may not have been one of the favorites, or front runners, he worked HARD just to get into that race. Sometimes fate smiles upon those who put in an honest effort and simply give their very best. This just happened to be one of those occasions, and his effort was rewarded with a gold medal. Good on the Australian skater.
What irks me is the Russian pairs skaters still get to keep their gold medals, and bill themselves as Gold Medalists. I guess the message that the IOC is sending is : If you cheat, and happen to get caught doing so, they will compensate the "wronged athletes" but will not penalize those who stand to benefit from questionable or fraudulent scoring.

I'm with you, Ken. Typical IOC, NWO crap. The russians should have been made to swap medals with the Canadians. Right is right..........and this is typical IOC.
