I thought about it and I decided to use the "Chatham" method. Most of you know that our very own Jimmy Chatham has not had a cigerette since his stroke earlier this year.
Well it has been one week now and the "Chatham Method" is working great. Here's how I have done it:
Everyday I wake up or when I just want to light up I say, "I Choose Not to Light up a cigarette Today"
I have taken the "negitive" aspect of saying "I am quiting smoking" out of the situation.
I have explained this to my doctor and he agrees with it completly and even said he was going to start using it with some of his patients that were having a hard time stopping smoking.
I want to first off thank Jimmy Chatham for the idea, I have found this time it is alot easier to "Choose" not to light up rather than just saying "I'm quiting smoking".
Who knows Jimmy maybe you can put your plan in some kind of "self-help" form and make a fortune marketing it........
I am definatly Not going to choose to light up again!!!!!!!!!
Best wish's to everyone and today........
"I choose Not to Light Up!!!!"
Thank You Jimmy, your inspiration has been a great support for me!!!!!!!!!

Very good decision. My wife and I quit together 17 days ago. We are doing very well with it actually. I had smoked for 24 years. It is simply amazing the sense of "SMELL" that we have. It's almost like entering a new world every day. I can't believe how easy it is to pick a "Smoker" from a group of people, just by them walking past.
In the short time we have not been smoking my coughing and hacking has almost disappeared. I'm not sure the kids are happy
we quit together though! However the are still encouraging us! LOL!!!
Keep it up Troy!!!!!
Thumbs up as well to Brian and Kathleen! I may not have much sign experience to offer here, but I do have experience in quitting smoking. Its been over 5 years for me here, and it was the best/hardest thing I have ever done.
I'm proud for you all!!
