I have a request for a 5 foot high coroplast/vinyl Bugs.

Can anyone help me on this? Is there any problem using this (referring to copywrite)?

That's a BB with a carrot, if possible.

Thanks.

hello bernice,
why not create your own bunny by buying a dover clipart book
(not to worry about copyright) from your local barnes and noble.

take a public domain image from a clipart book and "trick it up"
what i mean by that is make copies and "doodle" with a sharpie pen on a light table.

god bless you bernice,i had the good fortune to meet you at the "mazeppa muster" back in 99.

be creative.

Bernice,

Just to give you an idea on how much of an infringement, my brother used to work for a local night club. They were a 50's danceclub and was promoting a warner brothers night. ( unknown to Warner Brothers) they rented a Bugs Bunny costume and had a guy waving to passers by. It just so happens that a show was going on over at the Civic center that was warner brothers characters on ice. Someone from the Warner Brothers camp drove by, stopped and handed them a card and said " our lawyers will contact you"

Now I know ther must have been more to this story, but I do know they had a lawsuit against them.

I occasionally will paint cartoon characters on trucks but I never charge for them ( wink wink )

Good luck

Small towns are not safe from the long arm of our legal system. Disney and the other heavy hitters in the property area of copyright infringement, have placed ads in the local legal news papers. The recuit laws to be on the look out for this. They pay a finders fee or let the local lawyer take the person to court and collect what they can for a fee.
one of the local flea market sticker cutters.
had a problem like this. was closed up for a while and now doesn't cut that cartoon's image anymore. Still does others, but not that one. It was a newspaper comic won't say which one or what it cost, but was farless than they made cutting them.
Marks idea is a good one.
Disney has nailed a number of preschools and daycare centers in the Detroit metro area in the last couple of years.
Don't know if the free deal would stand up in court if the party that has the stuff on their walls is being put to the rack,in court.

Hi, All,
Question came up another time, and I e-mailed the person a story about a local incident that happened about ten years ago.
On the roof of his own barn ( I think ) a fella patterned the shingles to form a picture of a well-known cartoon character. No money involved as far as I know. Cartoonists lawyers got wind of it, and threatened legal action if it wasn't removed. Fella did, leaving only the character's house and a caption "---gone", and the dates the thing lasted.
Considering the stupidity, and the greed, of the whole thing, it is no wonder this country has more lawyers per square foot than any other, and that the legal system is in too many ways, the joke that it is. This is the kind of nonsense that ties up the courts? Somebody ( notice, no G-- word) help us all.

the legal beagles at warner's probably aren't as vicious as the disney people, but my advice:
DON'T GO THERE!

Well, that's the end of that. And I have been well warned.

OK, anyone working for Warner Bros. and you're reading this....

"...a, bud ee, a bud ee...that's all folks!!"

I'm getting my finger out of 'that' hornet's nest.
