Took down a magnificent old hand carved sign today for refinishing. Looks to be 30 years old. Has through bolts the way they used to do it. All hand carved and hand tooled. Some gold leaf, some handpainted detail. A real piece of craftmanship, unfortunately left in the weather too long without maintenance.
The artist carved away the border in such a way as to leave his name standing out in about 1/4" text.
Just wondering if any of you happen to know who Doug Stuart is and if he is still around.
