My son and daughter are out of town, Lyn is still out from the spinal surgery, I have a monster 5'x18' 6" thick carving staring me in the face and I'm not going to touch a chisel today. After Troy's post it doesn't feel QUITE as bad, but it's STILL a crappy day.

Pierre....take a piece of charcoal and draw a "happy Face" on that 5 x 18, then go out and do some target practice! On something else, obviously!

Okay Si, with no one there to watch Pierre, you're going to get him into trouble.
What the heck is he doing over there anyways?

Funny thing, Davey, my wife said the same thing.......... "no one to keep an eye on you". Geez, it's a conspiracy and I didn't even know she KNEW you!

Anyhoo, thanks, Si. I took your advice and actually went back to Lost prairie and shot the Barret Light.50 at a target out there at 500 yards. What a rifle. I feel better now.

I'm even thinking about going into town tomorrow and doing the layout on that big thing. I think we might take a photographic record of this one. It's not the biggest carving I've ever done, but it will be one of the most detailed.

Pierre, I sure do understand the lonliness of the family being gone. Whenever it's planned, I think of all the projects I can throw myself at while the interuptions are gone. They leave and I want to sit around and miss them. For me, walks in the forest or on the beach help. Eating my own cooking done for one returns the lonliness. Can you bring flowers and sneak some food in to visit Lynn?

Know what, Rick? I'm all full of talk and bravado.....................until I get home to this huge old house and it's just me. Funny how you really take the family's all being here for granted. This is the first time in memory that I've been completely alone. It sucks.

I can relate Pierre. Back before we had Cody, hubby worked loooong hours, to the point that we refused to visit anyone else on the weekends because we only had one day out of the week to ourselves.

Those were very long weeks. What got me through it in those days was chat and this bb. I was on chat all the time as some of you may remember.

I'm very thankful to now have my little guy keeping me busy, especially when hubby is busy working long hours. My mom who's alone, commented one day saying, "He really is good company so you're never alone, isn't he?" You bet mom.

So get online anytime you need to Pierre. This place is open 24 hrs.

Me too! Can't think of anyone I'd rather hang out with. I'd really like to do that, I just can't get too far away from Lyn right now. I'm going to make an effort to visit you guys this summer. Thanks, Rick! Even after a lousy night, I feel better.
