I bid a job before I climbed up on my trusty ladder and got a close look at the vinyl, baked onto a 2'X 25' acrylic can sign. I gotta heat gun but it may be useless. Is there some sort of solvent or oil or "sumpin" that can bring the vinyl back to life so I'm not taking it off in 1/4" squares?????

I don't think so. You're stuck with removing the face, bringing it down for a chemical removal. Sorry.

I USUALLY TRY TO GET THE CUSTOMER TO POP FOR A NEW PIECE IF ACRYLIC, SINCE THE LABOR TO "REPAIR" THE OLD ONE WOULD PROBABLY COST NEAR THE SAME. YOU ALSO STAND A CHANCE ON CRACKING THE THING, TRYING TO CLEAN OFF THE OLD VINYL. THEN YOU'RE STUCK BUYING A NEW PIECE OUTA POCKET!

I agree with Bob. Often, the cost of removal is about the same as a new piece. Also, if the plastic has any age to it, chances are it has become increasingly brittle anyhow.
