I have a collection of old photos
of Poster paintings from the past..
Some are of companies that are still around today and some are of companies gone by the way side..
Here is a posting of 3 pictures.
Anyone else have any of these old treasures to share?
Tell me what you think and I will post somemore over time! http://pages.sprint.ca/airartraven/1947posters.html

Stephen,
Enjoyed the old posters, looks similar to the pics in an old 'Martin's Complete Ideas' book I have.
Have you ever taken one of them and separated the elements and reconstructed it with today's layout styles and font choices?

These Picture are not out of Mags but real life photos that I have in a collect!

Larry No
I haven't done anything with them as I thing they are great just by themselves.
The old masters had to draw and paint all the work with no computer aid....
All Photos are something that was giving to myself in the past and I like to share with others.
There has been or 50 hits to this posting but no one has replied but you..

Long ago I used to see the scale painting like that for sales presentations for billboards. They were done in color, and also used by the painters with a celluloid or vellum blue line grid for an overly as a scaling and painting aid. I'd love to have a collection of them they were truly awsome. Imagine having them framed in with the lattice work like the old boards, all in scale with a model railroad set!

Steve- Very cool! I collect WWII avaition ads from Life magazines. One whole wall in the family room is covered in em. (in frames of course) I'll post a few later today.

I found a bucket in a antique store yesterday that had the Sherwin Williams logo, and the bucket was labeled "White Lead" with recipes on it for mixing. Pretty good shape. The dealer wanted $50, so I passed.

In the move to my new home somehow they got lost or stolen or turfed out!!!!
Beautiful pieces of work..
Maybe they will show up one day but I really don't think so!
