Here's a truck we finished this afternoon.
Customer approved design sketched out real quickly with a pencil. Colors were discussed and approved without seeing anything. That part of the process, including agreement on a price took about 20 minutes. This guy works alone swinging in tree tops, and has no other trucks and wants no other signs and does not want any logo at this time. How would you charge? Why? How did you arrive at that figure?

very nice work rick.
i assume it's customer furnished art?
i feel like two truck doors would go for $400 to $500 ????
regardless of hand painted, computer cut or digitally printed.

if i had to bevel the existing logo like you did, there would be an additional one time art charge of $125.00

again, very nice job!

Good JOB!!! and as for comparison pricing...

Well...I am doing this one for $680.00 both doors, and the tailgate....all in specialty vinyls..

the colors are not what I am actually using on the sign, and the hard to read text is at the customers insistence....

this one, and again the colors are off....it was a design I have put on about 15 trucks so far, both doors and tail at around $300-350 each... again, all vinyl

Mark, the only thing the customer supplied was the words. I scribbled the layout on the door with a stabillo to get it the size I wanted and then made a quick pattern. The black text on the bottom is vinyl.

My first instinct was around $400 but my gut tells me in the $350. I like being instinctive. Someday he will want artwork for logo, and charge accordingly for that.

You Guys make me SICK!
First it's a beautifull job.. no question..But in my neck of the woods if I recieved $200.00 for 2 doors I'd be dancing.. and you know of all the sign people here where I live they would be dancing also.. on average 2 doors, nothing fancy, would bring $90.00...that's it. with some extra colors, straight vinyl.. another $40.00....maybe, A multi colored edge print, at $20.00 a sq, ft and the door being 1ft.x 2.5 ft. it does'nt add up to very much now does it. I know the design is extra... But Mark if you can get $400.00 for 2 doors well then more power to you, I'm really jealous...No wait! Is'nt that $400.00 American... sure that's $600.00 Canadian, man I gotta move to bamy!

I got $400

It took alot of time to decide to erase the stem and foliage to the right of the emblem. It seemed strange for it to just come out and not show on the other side, but when I did it that's where my eye kept wanting to go, and I found that detracted from the effectiveness of the sign.

What do you see that could improve the sign ?
