Some of you have kindly enquired about my youngest child, James.
Yesterday we got a call from the Childrens Hospital in Dublin to say that a cancellation place had come up in the kids heart surgery list. James was no.1 standby on the list. We had to drop everything and drive him right up to Dublin by 8.00pm for blood cross matching tests so that the right blood type could be ordered from the blood bank. This meant getting the other three kids out of their schools (three different schools as boys, girls, and juniors)and David dropping everything including the payroll cheque writing for his employees.
We got him there on time (just) and spent the night having everything imaginable tested, x-rayed, sonogrammed, ECG'd, swabbed - you name it. All the results look good so it looks like he will have his heart surgery on Monday morning (Dublin time)at 8:30am. Thankfully we didn't have to fly over to Baltimore in Maryland to have it done afterall.
I am both relieved that things are finally moving and worried about all that might go wrong - one minute I am glad he is a big strong boy another I see just a little baby.
Anyway as several of you have enquired about James (who turned two in November btw) I have decided to post rather than email you individually. I have had to borrow someones computer to do this. I will post on this topic after he is out of ICU and I can get to a computer.
As things stand if any emergency cases come in before 8:30 on Monday, then James will be bumped and we will be back to where we started.

May the God of Heaven and Earth arise with healing in His Wings to minister to your little James. I pray the Lord Jesus just send forth His Ministering angels to watch over your little boy.
Mel and I have three little boys of our own, and this strikes particularly close to home for me. We will remember you all in prayer. PLEASE keep us updated.

Blessings,
Barry

Karen,
My grand daughters are both here right now and they are touched by the hope that James will be receiving his special gift. Our prayers are with James, the surgeon, you and your family and the family of the donor. We also pray that no emergency shows up so that James will receive his heart.

Love and Prayers,
Kathy

Oops Karen,
After reading the post myself, which I should have before posting. You little James is scheluled for surgery not transplant. Please forgive me for jumping to a conclusion (just my daily excercise). Our prayers are certainly with you and may you all get a good nights sleep before the big day.
