I'm really liking this company. It was started by the guy that invented SignGold. He left and started a new company called Real Gold. (realgoldinc.com) The product is very similar but Real Gold uses a different top material which reduced the price, but what I like even more is the warranty is longer with no need to edge seal. Warranty on the gold is 15 years and the silver is 10 years. I just did this truck window with their silver product in the large engine turn and the customer just loved it.

Old Paint would have done it better! He would say too much negative space and added some palm trees!

:-)

[Rolling On The Floor] Well if global warming continues, maybe we will have palm trees in the north woods.

I recently tried their product. Weeds easily and tears like mylar. We used the reversed stuff for a window and it scratched easily. Might need a felt squeegee on the back side. Color lacked the richness of gold, but it worked. The guy I spoke with initially said he owned this company and invented Sign Gold. When I called to order it turns out he works there and someone else owns it. I don't know what to believe about the product now.

I've never tried the reverse stuff and probably won't. I haven't had any problems with the gold or silver except it took a lot more blade pressure to cut this stuff so it seems pretty tough. I thought SignGold tore easier than Real Gold and I had much worse color consistency with SignGold from roll to roll. Everything I got from this guy has been really even colored.

The SignGold always had a tunneling problem that required correction before app tape. This new stuff didn't have that problem

I have never tried this RealGold, but I can say that I used SignGold on an over the road tractor 16 years ago and it is still holding up fine wit no edge sealing. The owner cannot believe it and either can I.

I use a lot of the Real Gold materials. It have had no issues and they have been great people to deal with. I used the reverse gold for a window job at a fire department, it actually looked really good. I can dig up some pictures if yall are interested in seeing them.

Nice job Dave - I like that!
Thanks much for sharing this info.
I just had a guy ask if I could gold leaf something for him. I think this may work well for his project. I really like the look of that Silver too - I'm excited to check it out!
