I've often wondered why people want their signs (AS THEY SAY)as high as you can get it.Do they think people are constantly looking up in the sky for things or keeping their eyes focused to the road.Do people put yard sell signs half way up a power pole or just settle for less highth.Did you ever think these same people(if they own a business)wants every thing they sell, what kind of credit cards they take, and oh yes...they do have public rest rooms and how clean they are. We painted a lot of this stuff on their billboards.I never understood why people wanted 50 candles on their cake when 5 will work just fine. You would think this would change by now,but I don't think it has.Can all these crazy marketing ideas and the best way of making a big sale be blamed on the current baby boomers or our forefathers? Not Suprising to say,THIS WILL NEVER CHANGE!

pylon sign by the road 8 tenants doin layouts for 3 new ones and every damn one wants to be at top. sign is 22' tall and I ask everyone WHY? I see stuff in front of me better than up in air
Handicapped signs in new offices installed by contractors. 8' in damn air. They act like the handicapped will be arriving in a peterbilt which at this height would be even with windsheild....I think alot people have "highenst and largest" issues

About thirty years ago, I was asked to put up a series of 12' tall x 8' wide signs for a real estate developer denoting property for sale. The signs had 8' ground clearance. Driving down the road, they practically couldn't be seen--no one looked up there. Two to three feet of ground clearance would have improved them greatly and saved money.
