I want to make a little sign, probably on paper, about 2 or 3" square, and stick it on the inside of the driver's door window so it can be read from outside the car. Has to do with an anti-theft device wired into the car. Now, is there some kind of glue that is perfectly clear that will take to glass?

Try some high performance clear box tape and cover it from the back with the label facing the outside. The tape will keep the rubbing to a minimum. The problem will be the ink jet ink will fade, so simply make up several at once and have some to replace them with, when the time comes.

There must be some one near by who can print a label for you on their Gerber Edge, a Member here perhaps? I can do it but it will come from over 5000 miles away. lol

Take two pieces of say 6" x 6" clear vinyl and lay the "sign" on the first piece - external (non stick) face of the vinyl. Peel the second piece and place over the sign and the first piece, so the sign is sandwiched between the two pices of clear. Trim to aound 5mm 1/8" all around, peel and stick to window.

Kinda like a lamination. Hope this makes sense.

Cheers - Gregg

It does. Sounds like it might do the trick, too.

Now I've got to design the sign. They say you have to know your audience. Unfortunately I dont know any car thieves.

Dennis,

I don't know if you have a vinyl cutter but you could do a reverse cut on some vinyl and put that on the window and put a clear layer over it to hold edges of letters from being scraped or peeled.

I do have an edge and could print something up for you if need be but try the other options first.

Best of luck, :-)

Seems like an Edge print in reverse on clear would be the way to go
