Good results over the years Stein!!!

BUT...it is should be like that...You guys live with winter for most of the year...

What else is there to do other than ski and skate???

(Oh..I know what else but I'm not going to mention it here!! [Wink] [Wink] )

The medal counts for Spain and Australia seem very low. Also the breakup of the Soviet Union seems to have skewed who comes out on top.

I will say however that Norway seems to be crazy about country sking. That must be where all the medals came from.

Whats with the Norwegian Mens Curling Team's pants this year?

Ski was the main transportation here until recently.

The curling team had no sponsors so they had to buy their own pants;)

Clees Verklerk and Eric Heiden was actually living here when they got their medals

The Olympic Competition comittee needs to look at and re-evaluate some sports. Cases in point:

Womens' Hockey...this has primarily been a competition between Canada & USA. If no other countries raise the level of their womens programs, perhaps it may be time for this one to be dropped.

Biathalon... This competition dates back to the time when Nordic ski patrols policed the borders of those countries. Shooting at a target with a .22 rifle as a part of this competition is rediculous. The Taliban would use Gernade Launchers or Rockets, and wipe out the entire target area with a single shot, and accuracy wouldn't count for so much.

Polar Bear Swims....This has real potential for a possible event. It sure would tend to weed out the Wussies, and provide an event that might appeal to the obese. That insulating layer of fat could be really beneficial in cold water.

( Said with tongue in cheek )
