Sarah had a dentists appointment this week in Norwich, VT, the hometown of the Women's Mogul gold medal winner Hannah Kearney.
She and Celeste stopped in at the local general store in town after the visit. The store owners had put out a pair of sweatpants and were having people sign their names on them for Hannah to wear after she gets Back from Vancouver.
They both signed on.

Skier Bode Miller is a Franconia, NH icon among the local skiers already and the town's planning a big welcome for him as well.

Small world...

Our little county of 14,000 had a participant, but he didn't medal. We're still proud of him. Nick Baumgartner, snowboarder, has won 2 US championships and made the Olympic team. Not bad from a small town of 3,000 with, by most standards, is a small ski hill in the Upper Peninsula.

Thank you Stein, that was great especially because it was in English. My lady friend was all excited to see her country men and women do so well.

Everybody down here in the South is just waiting for Spring, It's just way too cold right now to think about putting on bicycle leotards and jumping off a mountain on a pair of skinny wood poles....

We would be the ones hanging around all day at the lodge in front of the fireplace, with a fake cast and a stiff drink, and a bunch of lies to tell the snow bunnies....
