Hmmm, I was thinking,,and it hurt, but I'm doing some work for a chain bread joint. I have to do a bit of vectorazation to a log provided to me. And then I thought, wouldn't it be nice if we "The People of Letterille" had a library of some sorts that we could go into and download a logo. And just like any library, you need a library card or password to get in. Then you go into the different sections, auto, restaurants, whatever, and once you find your logo, you just hit the download button and you have you beautiful vectorized logo. We all have artwork of that sort, we could all pitch in and give each other a hand. And not the Calvin peeing krap, but real logos. Ford, Chevy, Denny's CNN, Chiquita, Ace, Kobelco, you get the picture. It could be another one of the perks living in Letterville.

Okay, I just downloaded the Ford Taurus logo. I got a EPS file. I opened it up in photoshop, okay. Then i tried to import the same eps into a Corel 11, and no go. I get this grey colored square that has some printed lettering on it and it reads "Taurus EPS Corel 8" What am I doing wrong?

Alicia....in older versions of Corel, you must open it as postscript iterpreted. and select curves.

Si beat me to it. Alicia, it's just a couple lines down from the EPS file. Reads, PS PRN EPS PostScript Interpreted. I've had to learn that too [Roll Eyes] . Once you got it, those files work ok.
I like your idea though, not for existing logos, but for personal illustrations, borders, etc.

Okay Si, next month I will be visiting the LA area. I am going to stop in La Mirada and you are going to show me, right in front of my face, how to perform this miracle. I will be there around Mar. 5th to the 9th. So don't take off, no running away, I don't bite.

Alicia,
Long time no see. I really miss the Northwest.
No problems with Corel X3. If you are in the Ventura county area look me up. I can run it by you easily. 15-20 seconds and you are on your way to LA.

Alicia,

here is a visual of the "import filter" you have to choose in corel in order to import these "eps" files in vector format.

it goes like this
click on import - choose the filter - browse to the file of your choice - clik import

Have fun!

Elaine got it, I use corel 11 and that's how you make the brands of the world logos vector. Download em, then import them with that selection. it works.
