In my Windows 98 I was using "The Font Thing", but alas the old girl died.

Having updated to XP with so many (expensive) upgrades, I am just wondering what you good folk are using to view fonts, that is, if I type in the word "SIGNS", the word signs is viewable in each font style installed. Preferably free.

Cheers - Gregg

I use "The Font Thing" with XP.

The price has increased though by about 10 times.

(10 x free = still free) It's a great little app! [Wink]

Thanks for that Ian, I had a problem, all downloads seemed to be zip, I tried the exe, but said it was missing some file. In the download, there were a bazillion zip files, all seperate. My puter knowledge does not extend that far. Any help?

Cheers

PS, the last file I downloaded onto 98 was just one file and installed perfectly

At work, use TFT (The Font Thing) with XP. For my own use, prefer Maintype by High-Logic. TFT is free & Maintype must be paid for. I load fonts alot instead of installing & like Maintype better.

I haven't got it on this computer, Gregg, but it was just a solitary download, from memory- whether zip or exe inside a zip- don't remember.

If you have Corel use the Bitstream Font Navigator.
Awesome program inside one of the worlds best design engines.
