Oop's, cant make it now...My girl friend (who I met incidentally while on a trip from St.George, Utah, bought a piece of forest land there.) any way I take the east route around the Grand Canyon, on the way to see my sister in Phoenix. and somewhere near Winslow,Arizona this lady stops behind my car where I was dealing with a flat tire problem asks..."can I help?. Well she had the right spare tire in her car trunk and the rest is history. So... she is a professional bowler, readyn' up for a tourament and somehow her back went out (slipped a disk or...) so the trip is off. We had planned to meet up with Joey, in L.A. and do some old route 66 gigs along the way and spend a month goofin' around. Oh well, there is other trips to do later on. Haven't seen Artie, since the "Sign Gold" days and was looking forward to checkin' out some east doin's. Maybe the next time. But y'alls east folks if yer near my turf, give me a holler.

Hey Jack I got a call from Mark Matyjakowski early this evening saying he would have also been there if we were to show but I said we would have to make it a later date. I still may head south bound to L.A. sometime in the next week or so to visit some of my money I left there some years back and hopefully recover most of it, but then again thats entirely up to those who want me to visit.
I've never met with Artie and to tell you the truth never heard of him either even though I certainly have been friends with more than my share of real pinstripers on the east coast, having been born and raised in NY and lived there from time to time, well maybe next time we can plan a better scheme as I would have liked to have seen Glen, Jules and the NJ bunch as well, hope theren is a next time
Maybe we can work this trip out after I get the monster back on the road and break it in, in a entirely different enviroment.
have fun, speak at ya soon

I got an idea. It's getting harder and harder for me to get out to all these meets around the World. With no health insurance outside Canada, it's just too risky at this point.
Let's hold all the meets in my backyard. Barb won't mind. We're both bigtime Artie fans.
Sounds like you've been taking an ass kicking Cap. A short vacation to Ontario might do you some good. We can skinny dip in the rubber pool.

Its been a long time since I been in a rubber pool with a naked fat Canadian....
Posted by Randy Campbell (Member # 2675) on :
well Ken if your up to it I'll interduce you to a hole wack of fat Canadians to swim with.hehehehe Posted by captain ken (Member # 742) on :
Sorry, US law prohibits Massachusetts residents to swim with naked fat Candian men, and only alows for no more than 3 semi-voluputous candian women. anyway, Artie.... I am trying to swing this trip, playing it by the day though....

Been planning this one for a while, but you know how it goes...best laid plans of mice and men who have sons who just got their driver's license and want cars.
Gonna try like hell to make it, Artie. Rapid

It would be nice if someone I knew was going Jack you're such a tease
I'm planning on going Friday, probably Saturday ... Sunday might be tough.
Hope to see some familiar faces

Mark, here's some more skinny... I finally came up in a lottery so to speak, for surgery on a small hernia that will happen on the 18th. So as luck would have it I will be here and getting this deal handled after waiting a few months in line. I would like to be in a lot of places besides here BTW. California, is becoming a sesspool of nuisance with too many people and too many rules. And bad drivers. I'm concidering heading back to the east and dealing with winters by being in florida.
Say hello to the group for me.

Artie,
Thanks for letting me join in the fun. I'm sorry I didn't make it back on Saturday. I went up to Syracuse with my brother and didn't feel right about blowing him off 2 days in a row. To all of you I had the pleasure to meet personally, thank you for making me feel at home. I hope to be invited back next year if you do it again.
BTW, how much money was made for the charity if you don't mind me asking?
Dave

Hats off to Artie and the Right Coast Car gang, for setting this up, and making it work, and it worked...25 pinstripers raised 25K for Parents Plus charity in 2 days, I left early Sunday, I would bet they turned the 30K mark by the end of the day. ALso something has to be said for Bill Watkins who did 48 wild grinded, candied, and louvered panels for us to work on. The Kernel, who out ranks me and ran a profitable and entertaining auction. Artie & Linda who made all of us feel at home and made sure we all got fed. Donna Colton, who sang her heart out all night Friday night, Jammin while we jammed. All the Right Coast cars guys, Hot Hues and all the folks who did so much even without picking up a brush

I think the total ended up somewhere around 34k. What a blast! Great venue, great people, great time. Thanks to all involved.
