Mdo is coming already primed but just wondering what white paint to get that works with vinyl. If I remember right I think I used mirrow glide simi-gloss but not sure it that would be to shiny. Any good info on this. Thanks!

DO NOT USE A FLAT PAINT!
Vinyl won't stick to it! Use a gloss paint, semi gloss or 'eggshell' is marginal.

This is a for sale and future site signs (outdoor)and do you think glossy white paint with black vinyl lettering would look ok? Thanks!

What Si said. The glossier the paint, the smoother it is, the better for vinyl to stick.

Gloss Enamel is the best

I'm kinda just trying to decide on semi-gloss or gloss. Wondering if gloss is to shiny for outdoor signage. What do you believe most people use? Thanks!

Black on white?
How big? Where is it? What are they selling?
Are you just going to put a bunch of lettersd on a board...or do you want to have an attractive, eye catching sign?

Black on white 4' x 5' It's in San Diego selling units (I would guess some kind of houseing) and the other sign is for a plaza. For the most part commercial.I won't to make an attractive sign because of future work from customer. Thanks!

Hiya Michael, Just about any exterior gloss paint would work. However, if you have access to 1 Shot or Ronan paints, I would use them. They're made for the sign industry and we know from experience that vinyl will stick to them. People mention using latex paints and it may work for them. But you better know what you're buying. Besides the issue of vinyl not sticking to a flat or matte finish, some newer paints are coming out with chemical addititives that prevent dirt from sticking to the finish. This would mean that vinyl probably won't stick to it either.
Havin' fun,
Checkers

Michael, don't worry about the paint being "too shiny" or "too glossy." It will lose the gloss (or a lot of it) when its coated with dust, road grime, and all the other things that blow onto the sign when its up. You need the gloss to make the vinyl stick.
there's nothing wrong with black and white, but for the same ammount of work you can have black and off-white, or black and baby blue, or anything else. sometimes a little touch of color can make the customer think they're "getting more".

Don't listen to Si. Black Brush Script copy (all upper case) on a white background........ no border.

White on black looks a lot classier than black copy on white. (newspaper)
If you REALLY want your sign to "pop", use yellow copy on a black background, or visa versa.
