What's the deal with HDU prices? You would think that with so many brands in competition now, prices would drop but even Everwood has skyrocketed in price. The best price I have found for 15# 1.5'' Everwood is $282/sheet. That's an increase of 26% from what I was getting it for. I have enough trouble selling dimensional signs at my prices now. Raising my price by 26% would seem to be out of the question. Is it because of the hurricanes?
Has anyone used the Duna "corafoam"?

I'm pretty sure the jack-up in HDU prices is because of oil prices. Everything related to plastics has gone up drastically. We're going to start having to raise our prices like everyone else we do business with. Check out the prices on oil-based paints sometime. Whew!

Yea, like everything else, prices have went up. Oil prices are partly to blame as well as shortages in key components because of the hurricanes and increases worldwide demand primarily due to China. One of the biggest isocyanate plants in the world was in Texas and was shut down for almost a month. Prior to this year it had been almost two years since we had any price increases. After the first of the year things should settle down. If you look at wood, metals, paints, etc... you'll see everything is up 30 to 40 % this year even before Katrina hit.
