The apple of my eye is in the sunset of his life. For the last 94 years my Dad has made this world a more beautiful place. This is the time I have feared since I was a little girl.

We have been sitting with him 24/7's for the last few weeks. Today the Doc ordered hospice. Dad is ready to go "Home", as a matter of fact he is praying for it. He asked me three years ago how I would feel if he prayed for this when the time comes, because he felt the time was near.

Please pray that God will give us the gift of wisdom and of peace as Dad's twilight approaches. The love he has shared with us shall remain on this earth after he is gone.

Thank you and I love you all.

Kathy, sometimes the end is a far better place than the now...Your dad has earned his peace. I wish him well. He's a far braver man than I, I hope my end comes sooner than 94 years...

May God give you strength and your dad peace. Even with your dad's 94 years of experiences and wisdom, one cannot begin to imagine the things God has prepared for us in heaven. Gosh, what beautiful memories you must have of the many times
spent together. Praying for you my friend. [Smile]

Kathy how blessed you are to have spent as much time with him as you are. It makes the time apart until you see him again that much less.

Prayers on thier way.

You're in our prayers. This is a difficult time and many of us here have been through it, so we can appreciate how hard it is for you and your family. Having other family members to share it with can be a real blessing. Our thoughts are with you all.

Kathy, seems your dad IS ready, & it is a blessing that he has had the time to get ready, when some are taken with no warning. He must have lived a full long life so far.

I will pray for you to have peace when his time comes, & that the Lord will bless this time you have left.

Reading your post made my eyes water up thinking about my own dad and how I will feel when his time is up too. No matter how long you prepare, it still hurts. No doubt your papa was a wonderful man, as I can tell by the way you speak of him. God bless his heart and Im sure he'll be watched over now and for eternity.
Bless the papas of the world.

Kathy, the first thought is just how very fortunate you are to have had him for such a long time. Think of all those who lost their fathers at a young age and missed all the wonderful experiences you have had.

Thank you all for the e-mails and prayers. Prayer works. Dad has "risen from the land of the dead" and is gaining strength at an amazing rate! I think we are in for the long haul. He must have one of us 24/7's as his mind is pretty much gone. Senile dementia has taken it's toll and about 3:00 in the afternoon we are on a trip!!!!

He has not lost his sense of humor, or his ability to love. He knows all of us, so we can enjoy his company and treasure every moment.

Thanks again to all of the Letterville family.

God bless you and all your family. Glad He's rallied.

Some time the blessing is the time you recieve with graditude for each day.

Other times the blessing is in being allowed to take care of him like he did for you.

You will always be glad that you were there for him.

My prayers are with you.

Sue

This is an example of the goodness that lives in the letterhead community. I am very heartened to see that there is such a widespread group of spiritual people here who believe and understand the need and power of prayer. My wife is now healing from a breast cancer surgery and it was the kind thoughts and prayers of friends, clients and even strangers that have given us strength and encouragement. Please add our prayers to you and your family during these difficult times.
